AIGA Roundtable
On April 7th the Boise AIGA chapter will be hosting a roundtable discussion on where the new local chapter has been and where it is going.
Some of the board will be traveling to Portland in June to join other national board members for the Sea Change leadership retreat to share the results of this roundtable discussion.
We will have 3 to 4 students and 6 to 7 professional members. It will be at 5:30 to 7:00 at Oliver Russell, refreshments will be served.
If you are interested in attending, contact Jennifer Wood [jenniferwood1@boisestate.edu]
We would love your feedback!
A design project
We have a few new design projects that are open to our members. We are working in teams of three, and there are three projects that have openings. One is a promotional project for the Special Olympics, one is a promo for an event for the Idaho Food Bank and the last one is a logo / business card / website skin design for a French Art Collective organization. The first two I mentioned are pro bono, and the last will help us raise some money for the club, to fund some of our future events.
Francesca will be organizing the Special Olympics job, Nichole is organizing the promo for the Food Bank and I will be organizing the French Art Collective work. More info for that is below. If you are interested in working on any of these projects, contact the person who is organizing the job (you can find our contact info in the About/Contact section).
Designing the Stop Sign
I’m sure many of you have seen this, but if you haven’t, it’s good for a chuckle. This is what happens when clients (probably with good intentions) try to drive the creative process forward.
Service Saturday
If any of you have time or are interested, I just got this message from VSB:
Volunteer Services Board is hosting their monthly Service Saturday this Saturday, March 14 from 9 am-1 pm. Meet at the dining stage in the Student Union Building at 9 am for free breakfast and then head out at 10 am to one of the four projects and do some GREAT volunteering with amazing agencies. If you have any questions please call (208) 426-4240 or e-mail vsboutreach@boisestate.edu.
Forum
We have one now. Check it out and post whatever design topics you want to discuss. I will be working on debugging and better integrating it with the rest of our site, but for now, post away!

Mix/Mentor
Thanks to everyone who came to Mix/Mentor last night, I hope you had a good time. Just want to let everyone know that if you are having any trouble contacting your mentor to please send me an e-mail (steve@aigabsu.org) and let me know what’s up. I want to make sure that everyone involved gets the most out of this experience, so if you have any questions or concerns just let me know.
Also, I apologize to those students who weren’t able to meet their mentors last night. We will make sure everyone has the appropriate contact info as soon as possible.
- Events are coming soon, stay tuned!
